The Art Directors Club für Deutschland (ADC) e. V. is an association of leading creative individuals in the genres of advertising, text, image, design, editorial, photography, illustration, radio, film, interactive media and spatial staging. Patterned after a similar club in the USA, the ADC was founded in Düsseldorf in 1964. It relocated its headquarters to Berlin in 2001. The goals of the ADC are to improve creative services in Germany and thus to set new standards for commercial creation, communication and marketing. To accomplish these goals, the ADC organizes competitions, encourages the continuing education of young creative talent by offering a broad spectrum of training opportunities and publications, and fosters the exchange of know-how among creators and businesses through seminars, congresses and lectures. The name "ADC" stands for exclusivity and high standards.
Being named School of the Year reflects Miami Ad School's (MAS) ongoing 17-year commitment to academic excellence. Ever since Miami Ad School opened its doors to develop graduates ready to take on the challenges the industry faces. Their alumni are "instant profit centers," ready to contribute to a firm's bottom line from day one. Like most aspects of any business today, that target is always on the move. That's why Miami Ad School has always endeavored to stay one step ahead of trends as well as changes in technology and culture. It's the only way every class of newly-minted art directors, copywriters, designers, photographers, and planners can be ready for the conditions they will face at the specific point in time when they enter the industry. It's how we earn the right to call ourselves The School of Pop Culture Engineering.
